My computer uses Windows 10 and I want to play some old games such as Diner Dash Hometown Hero. But everytime I play, the mouse pointer keeps flickering and I can only play a few rounds before being. Windows, Mac OS X: Release: November 8, 2007: Genre(s) Strategy: Mode(s) Single-player, Multiplayer (online) Diner Dash: Hometown Hero is the fourth installment in the Diner Dash series of casual games. It was developed and published by PlayFirst. It was launched on September 25, 2007.
Back in 2004, in the very first version of Diner Dash, Flo was a stockbroker who
quit a pointless office job and started her little restaurant business from scratch.
After acquiring some experience, she along with other diner chefs opposed the huge empire of Mr. Big in Diner Dash - Restaurant Rescue .
And afterwards, as Flo's diner grew and her efforts were rewarded, our hard-working heroine decided to go on vacation. But due to the ruthless will of game developers, she was doomed to serve the tables on cruise ship, train restaurant and even in a spacecraft diner in Diner Dash - Flo on the Go : ).
Now that the 3 versions have been released, and Diner Dash fans have played with all kinds of characters, tried all restaurant upgrades, dressed Flo with all sorts of outfits, what can there be new about the game?
But as Flo's diner grows bigger, the game turns out to grow bigger as well, and seems to turn into an interactive multiplayer title with a huge community of fans.
So, let's see what new features Diner Dash: Hometown Hero - Gourmet Edition boasts:
As always, you will find Story Mode and Endless Shift - the typical modes that were present in each of 3 previous versions of the game. But the good news is that the game includes multiplayer mode that allows you to compete in Diner Dash with other players online. Moreover, you can customize your Diner and share it with everybody in Play My Diner Mode.
No need to say, the basics of the game has remained intact from the original version. As always you're to perform the chain of actions that you're most probably know very well - seat your customers, pick the orders, bring them to chef, serve the customers, get the money and bus the tables.
But Hometown Hero opens a number of new features that add even more dynamism to gameplay. You'll be able to work with an assistant, push two tables together if a big company stops in your diner, keep the reserved tables vacant. Not to mention, you'll meet lots of customer types, and will choose upgrades for your restaurants in the beginning of every level.
Without a doubt, the greatest innovation of the game is its multiplayer mode. As you enter it, you'll be offered to create your own waiter (waitress), and design your very own diner. Lots of add-on elements (clothes items, elements of interior) can be purchased at Diner Dash shop.
This is not the end, since you'll be able to share the game you've created yourself and play the games created by others in real time.
It is such a great feeling to compete with a live person playing somewhere on the other side and competing with your opponent - feels like a real competition for tips between two waiters in a small café. The one who serves more customers wins.
With all this being said, it is no surprise that Diner Dash: Hometown Hero - Gourmet Edition is more than just a game. This is a phenomenon that gathered a huge community of casual game fans from all over the world shortly after its release.
